East Coast Strike Averted (for now)

By Dec 28th, 2012 • Category: News

The threat of a strike on 15 East Coast US ports has been averted for 30 days.  The current contract between the International Longshoremen’s Association and the Maritime Alliance has been extended until January 28, 2013.  The major issue, royalties paid to the longshoremen based on cargo weight, has been resolved.  We are hopeful that all remaining issues will be resolved before January 28th.
