East Coast Port Strike Averted

The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service which was coordinating collective bargaining negotiations between the International Longshoremen’s Organization (ILO) and United States Maritime Alliance has announced that the two sides have come to a tentative agreement  on a new Master Agreement subject to agreement by both parties.  We are very hopeful that the threat of a port strike has now been averted once this new six-year Master Agreement is ratified.
